Vote for change, not just a name.
Hello, West Valley City friends and neighbors. My name is Jim Vesock and I’m asking for your vote.
As your City Council representative, your voice will be heard and together we will bring about positive changes to benefit you and your family while creating an optimistic future of our great city.
After watching my opponent—the incumbent—vote as a rubber stamp for the City Manager for the last eight years rather than represent for the desires of his constituents, my passion to empower the voice of the people compelled me to run for West Valley City Council at Large. I am my own man. I am no one’s rubber stamp.
My opponent—the incumbent-- has the benefit of name recognition. Backed by his large family, my opponent—the incumbent--has been a member of the West Valley City Council for almost twelve years now yet, in my opinion, has little to show for it.
Unlike what I’ve witnessed from my opponent--the incumbent--who typically just showed up, contributing little to nothing—I will attend West Valley City Council meetings and study meetings with the intent to be actively engaged, providing input, vocalizing an opinion, and/or offering suggestions.
I will stand up for you and the best interests of our city, even if that means I’m the only no vote. Or the only yes vote.
I will speak up as the voice for the great people of West Valley City, even if—and especially if—what I say isn’t popular with other elected officials or the City Manager.
I will return your calls and or emails when you reach out to me.
Unlike my opponent—the incumbent—I will attend West Valley City events, grand openings, ribbon cuttings, My Hometown events, and I will show up for My Hometown days of service. I will also continue to go to, and be part of, as many National Night Out block parties as I can get to throughout West Valley City.
Vote for change, not just a name.
I’d be honored to have your vote on September 5th and then again on November 21. In return, when I am elected, I will honor you by speaking up on your behalf and giving you a voice unlike any other you’ve ever had in West Valley City Council at Large representative.
If you have questions about how I intend to serve you, or where I stand on an issue that’s important to you, please contact me via e-mail [email protected] or call 801-573-9062.
